Falling Oil Prices: Mr Jonathan, Do You REALLY Need Another Aircraft? – MURIC

Muslim group urges President Goodluck Jonathan to lead Nigerians by example and not to buy a new aircraft in the course of the falling oil prices.

It would be recalled that in the recently presented 2015 budget Jonathan asked the National Assembly to approve the purchase of another jet. It is believed that it would be the President’s 4th acquirement of this kind since 2010.

Meanwhile the country leader Sunday called on his People to be prepared for the hardships to be associated with the changes in oil prices.
Reacting to this statement, Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC) stressed the importance for Jonathan to set a good example by sacrifice in order to demonstrate that he is a patriotic leader.

Christmas Celebration: Father kills his son

A 45-year-old-man, Nwofu Igbo has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for allegedly killing his 16-year-old son.

According to report, the son had returned from Lagos to celebrate the Christmas with his family members in Nwofe Community in Izzi Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the father killed his son due to a squabble he had with the mother of the deceased.

Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Lagos has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to spare the lives of 54 soldiers sentenced to death for mutiny.

About a week ago, a military court in Nigeria had ruled that 54 soldiers be executed by a firing squad after they were found guilty of mutiny.

Calling on Jonathan to apply the prerogative of mercy to save the lives of the soldiers, Ayodele said his re-election in 2015 could be seriously undermined if he failed to do so, PM News reports.

Gunmen Attack Community During Post-Christmas celebration, Slaughters Many

A Sunday service in one of the US churches was marked by a sad passing of pastor Gordon A. Humphrey Jr. of United Ministries.

A commanding officer stationed northeast Nigeria gives a detailed account in a letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, on several troubling issues plaguing troops combating the Islamist terror group Boko Haram in the region.

The officer stated that, corruption, maladministration, lack of resources and troops motivation has militated against a successful campaign to end Boko Haram’s deadly reign of terror in the northeast.

The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 presidential election, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, took his campaign to commercial bus.

Osinbajo joined passengers in the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT from the Tafawa Balewa Square to Barracks area of Lagos, urging the passengers and other Nigerians to vote for Muhammadu Buhari.
