Gombe Blast.: Police resist movement movement around motor park

The Police have restricted movement around the Dukku motor park, Gombe , following the bomb blast that killed many people and injured several others on Monday.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Fwaji Atajir, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Monday that policemen were deployed to the park to protect lives and property.

“Some people abandoned their shops and ran for their lives
during the blast, and so, we deployed our men to protect lives and property.

“It is our responsibility is to protect lives and property, and I’m optimistic that business activities will resume at the park by tomorrow”, Atajiri said
He urged the people of the state to report to the police any suspicious movement around them for prompt response.

NAN reports that 19 died, while 25 others sustained injuries during the blast that occurred in the morning.
