Bank Verification Number (BVN) Registration date has been extended...

The central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the bank verification number (BVN) registration to October 31, 2015.

The bank said the extension is meant to facilitate smooth completion of registration.

The exercise, which started in February 2014, was initially meant to close on June 30.

The process entails data capturing of customers finger prints and also capturing of the customer in order to generate unique numbers for proper identification.


Each bank customer’s fingerprint is linked to a unique number.. Which is then taken to other banks that the customer banks with for verification in that bank branch..
